Introduction
Despite going through the COVID-19 pandemic during my freshmen year and part of my sophomore year, I still wanted to be as involved as I could be. Even with most of my classes during my first year being online, I was still able to gauge a good learning experience from my freshmen classes and make some great memories with the experiences that I sought outside of the classroom. Some of the most memorable courses that I took at UofSC include UNIV 101, Organic Chemistry I and II, and Fundamental Genetics. Not only did these classes teach me the material that was given in the lectures and exams, but they also gave me a better perspective of where I am and what I plan for my future currently. These classes, especially the science classes that are related to my major, helped open the doors for my beyond-the-classroom experiences that I was able to have in the past two years, such as my work helping students in the Student Success Center and my lab research with the Neurodevelopmental Disorders Lab. What I have learned in the classroom and outside of the classroom really solidified the aspect of myself that loves to help others, especially in the context of helping them learn as much as they can about the world or even about themselves.
